Cinnamon Twists Recipe
Yield: Makes 10 twists
Ingredients:
1 1-pound ball of dough
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup light brownsugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tbsp sesame seeds
½ tsp ground cardamom
Instruction:
Preheat oven to 375° F.
1) Place an oven rack in the centre of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
2) In a shallow bowl, mix together the cinnamon, sesame seeds, cardamom, and brown sugar. Twist 2 pieces of dough together to form a rope-shape. Pinch the ends together to seal. Roll, press, and stretch the dough into an 8-by-10-inch rectangle. Starting along the short edge and using a sharp knife, slice the dough into eight 3/4-inch-wide lengths. Brush all sides with the melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar (1/2 cup sugar plus 2 teaspoons cinnamon). Twist the ends in opposite directions, then transfer to a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Let rest 10 minutes. Repeat with the remaining dough. Bake for 12 to 14 mins until puffed and golden. Cool on a wire rack.
