Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae (Chuan Bei Mu in chinese), also called Tendrilled fritillary bulb, is a traditional chinese medicine used for cough. The cough is one of the chief symptoms of lung disorder, but it may occur in diseases of other organs involving the lungs. The dried flower bulb of the Fritillaria plant (which is a perennial herb) that contains about 100 species of this bulbous plant. The exact plant is the Fritillariae Cirrhosae, which is one of these species. The bulbs of Fritillaria are demulcent, astringent, antitussive, febrifuge, expectorant, and pectoral.
